Below we analyse a series of clichés on the subject of medicine and cosmetic surgery
Reconstructed lips are noticeable. This is not always true. Some reconstructed lips are noticeable but in almost all cases the results are extremely natural. What appears to be obviously artificial is the result of an exaggeration and is clearly visible to all, but the most natural and harmonious works are not noticeable to others. The spread of biocompatible fillers compared to first generation permanent substances has contributed to the spread of soft touches.
Reconstructed breasts are cold. This isn’t true. Any body prosthesis takes the temperature of the body itself. It would be like saying that the patient with a hip prosthesis has a colder leg. In extreme cases in which the patient has a very small breast and decides on an significant volume implant and this is positioned in a superficial plane compared to the muscular one, then a minimum temperature reduction could occur, however these are borderline cases. When common sense is accompanied by an appropriate technique, the result is completely natural.
Liposuction is unsafe. If it were true, no one would undergo a deliberate and unnecessary procedure if it had a high mortality rate. In fact, more than one hundred thousand liposuction procedures are performed in Italy each year and unfortunate cases can be counted on one hand. This is a standardised procedure that guarantees maximum safety in the right hands.
Remodelled women all look the same. As always, an excess leads to a non-harmonised standardisation of the forms but a good procedure restores the characters of harmony and beauty that have faded with time or that nature has not provided. Whenever possible, the pre-operative strategy agreed between the patient and the surgeon should respect the individual anatomical characters without producing alterations in the morphology.
Those who start, can’t stop. It does not appear that cosmetic surgery causes addiction. It is generally true that people who take care of themselves, even from an aesthetic point of view, will tend to do it always over time.
